Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Type 1 diabetes
  • A1C \<9%
  • Mild neuropathy
  • Mild retinopathy
  • Mild nephropathy

Exclusion

  • History of drug or alcohol dependence, heart disease, viral illness, liver disease, advanced kidney disease
  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Severely overweight
