Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Adults with communication impairment following a new stroke

Exclusion

  • Not fluent in the English language
  • Subarachnoid haemorrhage
  • Pre-existing, progressive dementia or learning disability
  • Palliative care only or deceased since admission
  • Resident outside the treatment area
