Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Fluid resuscitated septic shock \< 24 h.
Exclusion
- Septic shock \> 24 h.
- Pathology in the rectum.
- Bleeding per rectum.
- Limitation of therapy.
- Where informed consent from relatives cannot be obtained.
