Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Patients undergoing cardiac surgery with use of extracorporeal circulation
  • Aged 65 or more

Exclusion

  • "redo" procedures
  • anticipated use of succinylcholine during operation
  • contraindications to rivastigmine
  • preoperative mini mental score \< 15
