Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • patients aged 75 years or older undergoing elective cardiac surgery with CPB

Exclusion

  • positive cardiac troponin T test within the week before surgery
  • patients undergoing emergent procedures
  • patients with preoperative mechanical cardiac support
  • patients undergoing hemodialysis
