Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • gestation 32 weeks or less
  • 1 week of age or less
  • intravenous line in place for clinical purposes

Exclusion

  • imminent death
  • active infection
  • pre-existing diagnosis of NEC
  • fluid or electrolyte imbalance
