Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- patients undergoing colorectal surgery for malignant or benign diseases
Exclusion
- diabetes
- disorders that prolongs gastric emptying
- existence of an increased risk for aspiration of gastric content
- anal surgery (haemorrhoidectomy, fistulotomy...etc)
- emergency operations
