Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • cervical level spinal cord injury;
  • complete paralysis of fingers and thumbs;
  • voluntary shoulder motion;
  • electrically excitable forearm and hand musculature

Exclusion

  • extreme contractures of the joints;
  • skeletal immaturity;
  • extensive denervation in the forearm and hand;
  • poor surgical risk
