- Scheduled for colonoscopy as routine screening or for a specific problem
- PATIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Not pregnant
- PRIOR CONCURRENT THERAPY:
- No concurrent participation in a clinical trial to treat cancer or prevent cancer recurrence
