- DISEASE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Diagnosed with breast cancer and enrolled on NSABP-B-28.
- Estrogen-receptor positive (ER+)
- Node-positive disease
- Primary tumor tissue samples available
- Treated with cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin hydrochloride and tamoxifen with or without paclitaxel
- PATIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
