Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- age 18-65
- mild to moderate hypertension
- no other major illnesses
- BMI \< or equal to 40
Exclusion
- secondary illnesses
- BMI \> 40
- taking 4 or more anti-hypertensive medications
- BP \>160/100 on screening exam
- Alcohol intake \>12 oz per week
- Current smoking
- Recreational drug use
- use of birth control pills or contraceptive hormone shots
