Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • patients presenting for outpatient rotator cuff repair
  • adults
  • English as the primary language

Exclusion

  • evidence of peripheral nerve damage on affected side
  • refusal of peripheral nerve block
  • pregnant women
  • lung disease, including obstructive sleep apnea
  • chronic opioid use
  • mental handicap
