Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Pulmonary artery catheter in place for a clinical indication,
- fever \> 100.4oF
Exclusion
- significant carotid or cerebrovascular disease,
- PA catheter is not in proper position as confirmed by chest x-ray
