To investigate the clinical course and risk factors for VAT and the impact of VAT on Intensive Care Unit (ICU) morbidity and mortality.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- \> 48 hours mechanical ventilation
Exclusion
- immunodeficiency
- pregnancy
- severe COPD, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis
- recent pneumonia
