Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • women in labor at term pregnancy
  • healthy
  • epidural analgesia in place
  • breakthrough pain in advanced labor

Exclusion

  • chronic pain syndrome
  • receiving systemic opioids within 4 hours
  • receiving chronic antidepressants, clonidine, opioids
