Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • severe primary mitral regurgitation due to degenerative mitral valve disease

Exclusion

  • previous open cardiac surgery,
  • indication for concomitant aortic valve replacement,
  • left ventricle impairment (ejection fraction \< 40%).
