Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Undergoing surgical incision and drainage of a primary perianal abscess

Exclusion

  • Suspected inflammatory bowel disease
  • Fournier's Gangrene
  • Horseshoe (bilateral) abscess
  • Fistula-in-ano
  • Multiple abscess
