Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Intubated, mechanically ventilated patients who require suctioning more often than every 2.5 hours
Exclusion
- Unstable cardiovascular system (significant arrythmias, blood pressure support requiring \> 2 pressors
- refractory hypoxemia (P/F ratio \< 80)
