Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- age greater than or equal to 18
- patients requiring deltopectoral approach and opening of joint capsule for primary shoulder surgery
Exclusion
- allergy to cefazolin or cephalosporins
- tattoos over operative site
- previous surgical site infections in either shoulder
- revision surgical procedure
- immunocompromised patients
