- Patients are eligible to be invited to participate in the study if…
- They are electively booked in…
- … for Complete Cytoreducive Surgery (CCRS)…
- … for 'four-quadrant' Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP)…
- … at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH).
- They are 16 years old or over.
- They live within an approximate 100 mile radius of BNHH.
- They are able to converse in English, without the assistance of others.
- They are deemed able to independently make an informed decision whether or not to participate in the study (i.e. the individual must appear able to understand, retain and use or weigh up information as part of decision making processes)
Exclusion
- Potential participants are excluded if they have had a previous diagnosis of cancer.
- Potential participants are also excluded if they have had, or are due to have, a treatment of systemic chemotherapy.
