Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- elective cardiac surgery (coronary arteries and/or valve replacement)
- ASA physical status III or less
Exclusion
- pregnancy
- previous cardiac surgery
- myocardial infarction (\< 6 weeks)
- renal failure
- severe chronic pulmonary disease.
