Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Abdominoperineal resection and permanent colostoma
Exclusion
- Patient with a comorbid illness of condition that would preclude the use of surgery (ASA5)
- Potentially curable resection not possible
- Patient undergoing emergency procedure
- Metastatic disease
- Pregnant or suspected pregnancy
