Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- • Total thyroidectomy
Exclusion
- concomitant parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism
- lobectomy only
- completion thyroidectomy
- central and lateral neck dissection
- patients with calcium and/or vitamin D supplementation prior surgery
- patients with known and significant osteoporosis and renal failure
