Inclusion
- adult patients scheduled for major surgery requiring hemodynamic monitoring
- written signed informed consent
Exclusion
- pregnancy
- non sinusal heart rate
- known cardiac right ventricular failure or arterial pulmonary hypertension
- pneumothorax
- known pulmonary emphysema
